My Take on Shitsuren Chocolatier

I finally watched the final episode of “Shitsuren Chocolatier” and it ended up as expected. It was a bitter sweet one like those dark chocolates that I love so much.

Souta’s heartbreak is all of his doing. From the start it was stupid of him to let Saeko pull his strings. Kaoru’s one sided love is just pathetic and it was such a waste to let go of a potential lover for a hopeless one. Though not liked by many, I actually admired Erena of all the women. She did what she could for the men she fell in love with and even managed to face her heartaches gracefully.

This drama is full of unrequited love affairs that it was painful to watch. But that pain is what kept me glued to the screen. At some point we have that love that we know we cannot have and nobody can tell us when enough is enough. We just get properly heartbroken at the right time and accept our fate.
