Sembreak 2016: Cebu – Bohol Adventures

I don’t usually go out of town during sembreak. It’s usually the time for me to rest and rejuvenate in preparation for the second semester but an opportunity presented itself and I just can’t let it pass. Together with my coteachers, we went to Cebu and Bohol.

Our first stop is Bohol. We had a swim at the warm water of Alona Beach in Panglao. The next day, we visited the different tourist spots in the island: the blood compact shrine, the loboc river cruise, baclayon church, man-made forest, tarsier sanctuary and the chocolate hills.

It’s actually my second time in Bohol but I am still in awe with the beauty of the place. The island is just recovering from a magnitude 7 earthquake that took place three years ago. The old churches are still in construction but it is nice to see that majority of the scenic places are already fixed.

Then we went to the queen city of the south, Cebu. We did not have much time so we only managed to see the Cebu Cathedral, the Basilica del Sto. Nino, Fort San Pedro, and Magellan’s cross.

One of the most historic cities in the country, I would love to go back and explore Cebu more.

It’s been a tiring but fun trip. I hope I could have more opportunities to see more places in the future. 🙂
